Ingredients:
  • 90g honey
  • 60g butter
  • 5 firm pears, peeled, cored, cut into quarters
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice powder
  • 1 (about 450g) pork fillet
  • Salt & freshly ground pepper
  • 265g jasmine rice
  • 1 bunch baby bok choy, quartered
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C. In a small saucepan, gently melt together honey and 50g of butter. Place pears in a roasting pan, pour over the melted butter mixture, sprinkle with five spice, and toss well to coat. Roast for 20 minutes, giving them a toss occasionally.
  • Melt the remaining butter in a small non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Season the pork fillet generously with salt and pepper, then sear in the pan for 3-4 minutes, turning frequently, until nicely browned. Transfer the pork from the pan.
  • Place the pork in the pan alongside the juicy pears. Roast in the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes until the pork is perfectly cooked. Then, move the pork to a plate, lightly cover with foil, and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Prepare the rice following package instructions. Steam or microwave the bok choy.
  • Slice the pork against the grain. Serve with rice, steamed bok choy, and honey pears, then drizzle with the pear juices.
