Roasted garlic adds irresistible aroma and flavor to any dish.
Ingredients:
  • 2 garlic bulbs
  • 4 teaspoons olive or vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sliced French bread, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Gently remove thin skin from each garlic bulb, keeping cloves intact with a bit of skin. Trim off the top of each bulb to reveal the cloves. Arrange bulbs, cut side up, on a 12-inch piece of aluminum foil.
  • Drizzle each bulb with a generous amount of oil, sprinkle with a touch of salt and pepper, wrap securely in foil, then place in a pie plate or shallow baking pan.
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until garlic is tender when pierced with a toothpick or fork. Allow to cool slightly, then gently squeeze out the soft garlic from the cloves. Serve by spreading on bread.
