Elevate your dishes with rich, flavorful roasted garlic using this simple oven method. Perfect for enhancing a wide range of delicious recipes.
Ingredients:
  • One or more whole heads of garlic
  • Extra virgin olive oil
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) for optimum baking results, a toaster oven is recommended.
  • Peel off and remove the papery outer layers of the entire garlic bulb, keeping the skins of the individual cloves intact.
  • Trim the top of the cloves with a sharp knife to reveal the individual garlic cloves.
  • Arrange garlic heads in a baking pan or muffin tin, cut side up to prevent rolling.
  • Drizzle each exposed head with a couple of teaspoons of olive oil, gently rubbing the oil over all the cut garlic cloves with your fingers.
  • Wrap the bulb in shiny aluminum foil.
  • Oven time: Roast at 400°F (205°C) for 30-40 minutes, or until garlic cloves are golden and tender to the touch.
  • Let the roasted garlic cloves cool until they are safe to touch. Gently cut the skin around each clove with a small knife, then use a cocktail fork or your fingers to easily remove the roasted garlic cloves from their skins. Enjoy them as they are or mash with a fork for cooking. Try spreading it on warm French bread, mixing it with sour cream for baked potatoes, or incorporating it with Parmesan and pasta.
