Tangy blue cheese, sweet pears, crunchy pecans, and mustard vinaigrette over leaf lettuce create a delightful pear Roquefort salad.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup pecans
  • 0.33333334326744 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1.5 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 head green leaf lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 medium pears - peeled, cored and chopped
  • 5 ounces Roquefort cheese, crumbled
  • 1 medium avocado - peeled, pitted, and diced
  • 0.5 cup thinly sliced green onions
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your beautiful and fresh ingredients.
  • Prepare the pecans: Heat pecans and sugar in a skillet over medium heat until the sugar melts and the pecans caramelize, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Transfer the nuts onto a sheet of waxed paper to cool gracefully.
  • As the nuts cool down, prepare the dressing by whisking together oil, vinegar, sugar, mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Assemble the salad by arranging lettuce, pears, Roquefort cheese, avocado, and green onions in a spacious serving bowl. Drizzle the dressing on top.
  • Crush cooled pecans and generously scatter them atop the salad for added crunch and flavor.
