Elevate classic scones with Gold Medal® flour, fresh rosemary, sweet pears, and tangy Asiago cheese for a delicious sweet and savory treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped fresh pear
  • 1/2 cup grated Asiago cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F and lightly coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Use a pastry blender or fork to cut in the butter until mixture resembles small peas. Freeze for 5 minutes. Stir in 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of whipping cream, pear, cheese, and rosemary until just moistened.
  • Place the dough on a cookie sheet and gently shape it into a 7-inch round using floured hands (the mixture will be crumbly). Cut the round into 8 wedges without separating them, then brush the dough with the remaining 2 tablespoons of whipping cream.
  • Bake for 13 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Gently pull apart wedges and serve warm.
