Create a flavorful slow cooker rotisserie chicken with chili powder, thyme, marjoram, and paprika.
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 whole chicken (3 1/2 to 4 1/2 lb)
Instructions:
  • Prepare the slow cooker by giving it a quick spray with cooking spray. Combine the spice rub ingredients in a small bowl until fully blended.
  • Massage the flavorful spice mixture onto the entire surface of the chicken, ensuring the legs remain untied. Gently place the seasoned chicken in the slow cooker, making sure to leave at least a 1-inch gap around the chicken for even cooking.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for 4 to 5 hours until an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the inside thigh muscle (without touching the bone) reads at least 165°F. The legs should move easily when lifted or twisted. Avoid removing the lid before 4 hours have passed.
