Slow-cooked pork tenderloin for a budget-friendly and scrumptious meal!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (2 pound) package pork tenderloin, fat trimmed
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 3 dashes hot pepper sauce
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch lemon pepper, or to taste
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Generously season pork tenderloin with a pinch of salt, a dash of freshly ground black pepper, and a subtle kick of 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, sizzle pork until beautifully browned all around for about 10 minutes. Transfer the pork to a slow cooker, and pour in water, brown sugar, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and hot sauce.
  • Slow-cook the tenderloin for 7 hours. Transfer the tenderloin to a platter, discard excess liquid, leaving about 1/2 cup aside. Shred the pork and place it back in the slow cooker, adding enough reserved liquid to keep it moist.
  • Combine mayonnaise, white vinegar, garlic powder, lemon pepper, and a pinch of cayenne pepper in a bowl to create a flavorful sauce for the shredded pork.
