Succulent pork chops cooked in a savory-sweet sauce with beef broth, garlic, soy sauce, and a hint of red pepper for a flavorful kick.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 (3/4 inch-thick) boneless pork chops, trimmed
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup beef broth
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, warm 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Sear chops in the hot oil for approximately 5 minutes on each side. Transfer the pork to a plate, keeping the flavorful oil in the skillet.
  • Saute garlic in the pan drippings for 1 minute. Combine beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, and red pepper flakes in a bowl, stirring until sugar dissolves. Place pork chops back in the skillet and pour the sauce over them. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer on low heat for 30-35 minutes, turning halfway through, until chops are tender.
  • Place the chops on a beautiful serving platter. Combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth, then add to the pan juices. Simmer until the sauce thickens, around 5 minutes. Generously pour the sauce over the chops before serving.
