Tender beef cooked in a flavorful gingersnap gravy, served on comforting egg noodles for a delightful spin on sauerbraten. A simple and tasty stew.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cups egg noodles
  • 0.75 cup crushed gingersnap cookies
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Place the beef, onion, beef broth, vinegar, and bay leaves in a slow cooker for a delicious and easy meal.
  • Slow cook for 7 to 9 hours on low heat.
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Add egg noodles and cook until al dente, stirring occasionally, for about 4 to 5 minutes. Drain well.
  • Discard bay leaves from beef mixture, then incorporate crushed gingersnaps and brown sugar. Simmer on Low until thickened, approximately 15 minutes. Plate sauerbraten over egg noodles and garnish with parsley before serving.
