Savory sausage and egg casserole with bread and cheese - a crowd-pleasing favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 cups milk
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 6 slices white bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Assemble all the ingredients needed.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook crumbled sausage until evenly browned and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Drain off any excess grease before continuing.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and mustard until combined.
  • Incorporate bread cubes, Cheddar cheese, and sausage into the egg mixture through gentle folding.
  • Transfer the mixture into a lightly greased 7x11-inch baking dish, then cover it and place it in the refrigerator for 8 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and let your casserole chill outside the fridge for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
