"Simple and fun sausage roll recipe for kids!"
Ingredients:
  • 500g sausage mince
  • 41.60 gm tomato sauce
  • 45.20 gm barbecue sauce
  • 187.50 ml fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp Mustard Powder
  • 1 small brown onion, grated
  • 1 medium carrot, peeled, grated
  • 3 sheets frozen puff pastry, partially thawed
  • Tomato sauce, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced and line 2 large baking trays with baking paper.
  • Mix together ground meat, tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, breadcrumbs, mustard powder, diced onion, and grated carrot in a bowl.
  • Cut each pastry sheet in half. Shape 1/2 cup of mince mixture into a sausage shape and place along one long side of each pastry half. Roll up the pastry to enclose the filling, pinching it with your fingertips to seal. Cut each roll into quarters and place them seam side down on a prepared tray, 5mm apart. Repeat the process with the remaining mince mixture and pastry sheets.
  • Bake until perfectly golden and cooked through, approximately 35 minutes. Serve alongside a savory tomato sauce.
