Indulge in a savory beef stew packed with tender meat, sweet onions, hearty carrots, and creamy potatoes, baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lb beef stew meat
  • 1 medium onion, cut into 8 wedges
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) stewed tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 dried bay leaf
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 12 small red potatoes (1 1/2 lb), cut in half
  • 1 bag (8 oz) ready-to-eat baby-cut carrots (about 30)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine beef, onion, tomatoes, seasoned salt, pepper, and bay leaf in a 4-quart Dutch oven. In a separate bowl, whisk together water and flour, then add to the beef mixture.
  • Cover and bake for 2 hours, stirring halfway through.
  • Add the potatoes and carrots to the mixture, cover it, and bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until the beef and vegetables are tender. Remember to take out the bay leaf before serving.
