Prepare Parmesan everything puff pastry twists for a crunchy, flavorful dinner side or appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 of a 17.3-ounce package frozen puff pastry sheets (1 sheet)
  • 1 1/3 cups finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Everything But The Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 Tablespoon (scant) all-purpose flour
  • Ketchup and Dijon mustard, optional
Instructions:
  • Allow the puff pastry to thaw at room temperature until it is flexible, which should take about 1 hour or as per the package instructions.
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and line a 12x18-inch sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Evenly scatter half of the cheese and half of the seasoning blend on the parchment paper, covering an area the size of the puff pastry sheet.
  • Coat one side of the pastry with beaten egg, then place it in the pan with the egg-washed side facing down.
  • Gently dust a rolling pin with flour, letting any extra fall onto the pastry. Roll out the pastry to ensure the seasoning and cheese are evenly pressed into the bottom of the sheet.
  • Using a sharp knife or bench scraper, slice the pastry lengthwise into 9 strips, then cut each strip in half crosswise to create 18 strips in total.
  • Coat pastry strips with egg wash, sprinkle with remaining Parmesan and seasoning blend. Twist each strip gently and arrange on pan with space between them.
  • Place twists in the center of the preheated oven until golden brown, approximately 10 minutes. Using tongs, flip each twist and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Take out from the oven and let it cool on a rack for a bit. Serve while warm as bread sticks for a meal or as appetizers with ketchup and Dijon mustard for dipping.
