Elevate comfort food with savory Romano cheese on caramelized roasted butternut squash – a delectable and simple side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 butternut squash, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 0.5 cup shredded Romano cheese (such as Locatelli®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a perfect 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Toss butternut squash with olive oil, thyme, black pepper, and salt until well coated. Transfer to a large baking dish and cover with foil before baking.
  • After baking for 30 minutes in a preheated oven, gently mix in half of the Romano cheese. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Bake uncovered until tender and golden brown, approximately 20 more minutes.
