Quick, versatile, and delicious family favorite passed down from moms.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium brown onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium carrot, finely diced
  • 2 celery stalks, finely diced
  • 600g beef mince
  • 20.00 ml plain flour
  • 255.00 gm beef stock
  • 62.50 ml frozen peas
  • 8 small slices toasted crusty bread
  • Fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add onion, carrot, and celery, cook and stir occasionally for 5 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Add mince and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, for 8-10 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
  • Sprinkle in the flour and cook while stirring for 1 minute. Incorporate the stock and Worcestershire sauce. Season generously with pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 12 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  • Gently fold in peas and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until vibrant and tender. Serve the flavorful mince mixture over toast, garnished with fresh parsley.
