Delicious Scotch eggs: hard-boiled eggs wrapped in sausage, breaded, and fried – a perfect appetizer or picnic treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 quart oil for frying
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 pounds bulk pork sausage
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 4 cups dried bread crumbs, seasoned
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and heat oil in a deep-fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a saucepan, gently submerge eggs in water. Heat until boiling, then cover and remove from heat. Allow eggs to rest in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Afterward, take out eggs, cool, and gently peel.
  • Gently shape sausage into a patty to wrap around each egg. Lightly dust the outer sausage layer with flour, dip in beaten egg, and coat evenly with bread crumbs.
  • Deep-fry prepared eggs until they are beautifully golden brown, ensuring both sides are thoroughly cooked. Transfer to a preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Halve the dish and serve.
