Try Halloween Severed Finger Sugar Cookies - spooky twist on classic sugar cookies using Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix for a ghoulishly delicious treat this fall!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup raw sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup seedless strawberry jam
  • 7 drops red food color
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare your cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  • Combine the cookie mix and egg in a medium bowl using a fork or spatula until the mixture resembles sand or bread crumbs. Squeeze a handful of the dough tightly to form a small log or "finger." Use a butter knife to score the top of the log to create knuckle lines, then press one sliced almond at one end for the fingernail. Repeat with the remaining dough. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, then allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together jam and food color. Use a fork to trim the base of the "finger" to create a severed look, then dip the base into the jam.
