Decadent blend of smoked Gouda, Cheddar, Swiss, and Parmesan elevates this classic comfort dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 5.5 cups milk, divided
  • 2.5 cups shredded smoked Gouda cheese
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1.5 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • olive oil
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • 1. Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook until al dente, stirring occasionally, about 8 minutes. Drain well.
  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and whisk constantly for 1 to 2 minutes to create a roux. Whisk in 2 cups of milk until smooth, then add the rest of the milk. Increase heat to medium-high and cook until thickened without boiling. Stir in Gouda, Cheddar, Swiss, and 1 cup Parmesan until melted, then fold in cooked macaroni to coat. Transfer mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Combine 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl; sprinkle the mixture over the macaroni and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Bake in the hot oven until golden and bubbly, approximately 30 minutes. Rest for 10 minutes before cutting.
