Spicy Mexican-style shepherd's pie, a flavorful twist on a classic dish. Customize seasonings to suit your preference.
Ingredients:
  • 5 potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon spicy seasoned salt
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen corn
Instructions:
  • - Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously coat a 9-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
  • 1. Boil a generously salted pot of water until bubbling vigorously. Cook potatoes until fork-tender, then drain. Hand mash using a potato masher or sturdy whisk. Incorporate butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to your liking. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, warm oil. Add onions and cook until softened, about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in garlic and ground beef, cooking until meat is no longer pink. Season with seasoned salt and taco seasoning. Mix in peas and corn until well combined.
  • Transfer the flavorful beef and vegetable mixture into the baking dish, then generously smother with creamy mashed potatoes.
  • Bake until the potatoes are golden and the beef and vegetable mixture is hot and bubbly, about 30 to 35 minutes in a preheated oven.
