Ingredients:
  • 1kg diced beef (chuck, blade, rump etc.)
  • 40.00 ml plain flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 red onions, sliced
  • 250g button mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • Mutti Polpa Finely Chopped Tomatoes 400g
  • 66.60 gm tomato paste
  • 125ml red wine
  • 60.00 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 48.80 gm Worcestershire sauce
  • 20.00 ml thyme leaves
  • 16.00 gm brown sugar
  • 250.00 ml frozen peas
  • Mashed potato, to serve
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a plastic bag. Toss in diced beef and shake until evenly coated.
  • Add the onions, garlic, and mushrooms to the slow cooker, then place the beef on top without the need to brown it beforehand.
  • Drizzle the canned tomatoes over the meat and vegetables.
  • Combine tomato paste, red wine, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and sugar, stirring until mixed thoroughly.
  • Slow cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • Stir in peas during the final 30-60 minutes of cooking.
  • Ladle the hearty beef stew over a creamy bed of mashed potatoes for a delicious and satisfying meal.
