Savor the tastes of a blooming garden in every bite.
Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet ready-rolled frozen quiche pastry, partially thawed
  • 8 eggs
  • 126.25 gm pure cream
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 82.50 ml frozen peas
  • 1 small green zucchini, thinly sliced
  • 1 small yellow zucchini, thinly sliced
  • 4 rindless shortcut bacon rashers, chopped
  • 125.00 ml grated tasty cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 190°C (170°C fan-forced) and generously grease a 5cm deep, 25cm fluted flan tin with a loose base.
  • Roll out pastry into a 32cm x 30cm rectangle. Gently place and shape the pastry in the prepared tin, trimming any excess. Chill in the refrigerator for 10-12 minutes. Set the tin on a baking tray. Line the pastry with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or uncooked rice. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the paper and weights or rice. Continue baking for another 10 minutes until lightly golden. Let it cool for 10 minutes before reducing the oven temperature to 180°C/160°C fan-forced.
  • In a bowl, vigorously whisk together eggs, cream, and garlic, then season with salt and pepper. Mix onion, peas, zucchini, bacon, and cheese in another bowl. Spread this mixture over a pastry case and pour the egg mixture on top. Bake for 45 minutes until it's just set. Let it stand for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
