Make delicious slow cooker bread using just 6 pantry staples - so simple!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 5.00 gm caster sugar
  • 330ml (1 1/3 cups) warm water
  • 500g (3 1/3 cups) bread & pizza flour
  • 2.40 gm salt
  • Olive oil to brush
Instructions:
  • In a small bowl, mix the yeast, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of water. Let it sit in a warm place for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt, making a well in the center. Add the yeast mixture and remaining water. Mix to combine, then use your hands to form the dough in the bowl, adding an additional tablespoon of water if needed. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free spot for 1 1/2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Prepare the slow cooker by lining the base with baking paper. Gently transfer the risen dough into the slow cooker and brush it with oil.
  • Cook on High, covered, for 2 hours until the edges are golden brown and the top remains pale.
  • Preheat the grill to medium. Place the bread on a tray and grill for 6 minutes, turning halfway, until both sides are golden. Allow the bread to cool to room temperature before slicing and serving.
