Slow-cooked breakfast casserole with sausage, hash browns, Cheddar cheese, and seasoned scrambled eggs - a family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 2 (16 ounce) packages breakfast pork sausage
  • 16 eggs
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 0.75 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 0.75 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (24 ounce) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 24 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Prepare the slow cooker by lining it with a slow cooker liner and coating it with cooking spray.
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir sausage in the skillet until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. Discard any excess grease.
  • Combine eggs, milk, dry mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper while whisking in a bowl.
  • Layer 1/3 of the hash browns, 1/3 of the cooked sausage, and 1/3 of the Cheddar cheese in the bottom of the slow cooker. Repeat with the remaining hash browns, sausage, and Cheddar cheese. Pour the egg mixture over the layers.
  • Slow cook until eggs are firm, for 6 to 8 hours.
