Slow cooker egg custards recipe

Make-ahead individual custards, creamy and delicious, done easily in a slow cooker.
Ingredients:
  • 70g (1/3 cup) caster sugar
  • 410ml (1 2/3 cups) pouring cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 0.63 gm ground nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, blend eggs, sugar, cream, and vanilla until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly into four 180ml (3/4 cup) ovenproof dishes or ramekins. Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired.
  • 1. Cover each ramekin with foil and arrange them in the base of a slow cooker. Pour hot water into the cooker until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Cook on Low for 2 hours or until the custard is just set with a slight wobble in the center.
