Savoury Asian meatballs simmered in three flavorful sauces, ideal for a tasty starter.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
  • 1/3 cup Progresso™ plain bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup plum sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and generously spray a 15x10x1-inch pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine the meatball ingredients and form about 36 (1-inch) meatballs. Arrange them in the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until meatballs are fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.
  • Grease a 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and gently mix.
  • Cover the cooking vessel and simmer gently over low heat for 2 to 4 hours.
