Try the easiest and most delicious slow cooker Italian sausage lasagna - just layer sauce, noodles, and cheese in the crockpot and let it cook for 4-6 hours!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 3 cans (15 ounces each) Italian-style tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
  • 1 container (15 ounces) part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 15 uncooked lasagna noodles
Instructions:
  • In a 10-inch skillet, sauté the sausage and onion over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes until the sausage is cooked through; make sure to stir occasionally. Drain any excess oil. Add tomato sauce, basil, and salt to the skillet and mix well.
  • Combine 1 cup of mozzarella cheese with ricotta and Parmesan cheeses, refrigerating the extra mozzarella for later use.
  • Layer one-fourth of the sausage mixture in the slow cooker, followed by 5 broken noodles. Spread half of the cheese mixture and another one-fourth of the sausage mixture. Add another layer of 5 noodles, the rest of the cheese mixture, and one more one-fourth of the sausage mixture. Finish with the last layer of 5 noodles and the remaining sausage mixture.
  • Simmer covered on Low heat for 4 to 6 hours, or until noodles are perfectly tender.
  • Finish off your delicious lasagna by generously scattering the remaining 1 cup of melty mozzarella cheese on the top. Allow it to sit covered for about 10 minutes to ensure the cheese gets perfectly gooey. Then, slice into delectable pieces and enjoy!
