Slow-Cooker New Orleans Style Barbecue Shrimp

Delicious slow cooker shrimp appetizer perfect for entertaining.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper sauce
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon seafood seasoning (from 6-oz container)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 lb uncooked large shrimp in shells, thawed if frozen
Instructions:
  • Prepare a well-coated 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker, excluding the shrimp and lemon wedges. Cover and cook on Low for 2 hours.
  • Add shrimp to the slow cooker, then raise the heat to High. Cook covered for an additional 30 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Turn off the slow cooker and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Remove thyme sprigs and serve shrimp with lemon wedges.
