Create a mouthwatering slow-cooker taco casserole beloved by all.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of onion soup
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Old El Paso™ Original Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 corn tortillas (5 or 6 inches in diameter), cut into 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
  • 3 medium green onions, sliced (3 tablespoons)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions:
  • In a 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beautifully browned; then drain off any excess fat.
  • Combine beef, tomatoes, soup, dry seasoning mix, and water in a 3 1/2- to 5-quart slow cooker, then fold in tortilla strips.
  • Slow simmer the dish over low heat for 7 to 8 hours with the lid on.
  • Cover the casserole with a generous layer of cheese and let it rest for about 5 minutes until the cheese is beautifully melted. Finish by sprinkling with onions and serving with a side of sour cream.
