Impressive and easy Asian-style roast pork with marmalade and Chinese five-spice flavors. Perfect for a dinner party!
Ingredients:
  • 108.90 gm sweet orange marmalade
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 4cm piece fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 2kg boneless pork shoulder
  • 1 bulb garlic, halved crossways
  • 1 bunch baby bok choy, halved lengthways
  • 1 bunch baby pak choy, halved lengthways
  • 150g snow peas, trimmed
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 24.40 gm oyster sauce
  • Steamed white long-grain rice, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan-forced, then set up a wire rack in a large roasting pan.
  • Mix together the marmalade, Chinese five-spice powder, and ginger in a bowl. Brush most of this flavorful mixture over both sides of the pork. Place the pork on a wire rack, skin-side up. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast in the oven at 150C/130C fan-forced for 3 hours.
  • Coat the pork with the rest of the marmalade mixture and place garlic cut-side up on the rack. Roast until tender, approximately 1 hour more.
  • Take the pork out of the oven, keep the roasted garlic aside, cover the pork loosely with foil, and let it rest. In the meantime, raise the oven temperature to 200C/180C fan-forced.
  • In a roasting pan, combine bok choy, pak choy, snow peas, and reserved roasted garlic. Drizzle with sesame oil and oyster sauce, then season with pepper. Roast for 15-20 minutes until vegetables are charred and tender.
  • Slice the succulent pork and present it elegantly alongside perfectly roasted greens, aromatic garlic, and fluffy steamed rice.
