Enjoy making homemade sushi with smoked salmon and creamy avocado for a fun and delicious Japanese-inspired meal.
Ingredients:
  • 110g rice
  • 20.00 ml sushi vinegar
  • 19.80 gm mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp wasabi
  • 55g sesame seeds
  • 400g sliced smoked salmon
  • 2 sheets roasted seaweed sushi nori
  • 1 avocado half, stone removed, peeled
  • Salt reduced soy sauce, to serve
Instructions:
  • Prepare the rice as directed on the package. Incorporate the vinegar into the rice and let it cool. Combine the mayonnaise and wasabi until smooth.
  • - On a sheet of non-stick baking paper, create a 22cm x 20cm rectangle. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds inside the rectangle. - Layer half of the salmon over the sesame seeds, slightly overlapping. - Top with a nori sheet, then evenly press half of the rice over the nori. - Spread half of the wasabi mixture in a 2cm-wide horizontal line across the rice.
  • 1. Slice the avocado in half lengthwise. Cut one half into 1cm thick sticks. Place the avocado on top of the wasabi mixture. Use the baking paper to elegantly roll the sushi into a log around the avocado. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients.
  • Slice each roll into 2cm thick pieces with a serrated knife, ensuring to cut where the salmon is a whole piece. Serve with soy sauce.
