Make quick and easy homemade cookies using cookie strips for fast shaping.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 4 teaspoons sugar, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Combine 1 cup of sugar, oil, molasses, and egg in a large bowl using a spoon. Mix in all ingredients except 4 teaspoons of sugar.
  • Divide the dough in half. Shape one half into a 14x2-inch strip on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cut the strip in half lengthwise and separate them at least 3 inches apart. Gently press the strips with a fork dipped in sugar to flatten to about 1/2-inch thickness. Sprinkle each strip with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
  • Bake until edges are light brown and tops appear cracked, about 6 to 7 minutes. Let cool for 2 minutes, then cut each strip into 1-inch slices and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store loosely covered.
