Cheesy garlic breadsticks made effortlessly in a food processor.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 cups bread flour
  • 3 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 0.75 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup hot water
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Prepare your food processor with a steel blade. Combine bread flour, yeast, sugar, salt, Italian seasoning, garlic, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan, and softened butter in the processor; pulse until blended. Mix hot water, milk, and egg together. Turn on the processor and gradually pour the milk mixture through the feed tube until a ball forms. Knead for 30 seconds. Take dough out, knead briefly by hand, and place in a lightly oiled large bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm spot until doubled, approximately 1 hour.
  • Take the dough out and shape it into a 10x12 inch rectangle on a floured surface. Slice the dough into ten strips lengthwise, then cut them in half. Brush the strips with 2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese on top. Let it rise for about 30 minutes until nearly doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown, for 18 to 23 minutes. Then, switch on the broiler and brush the breadsticks with the leftover melted butter and sprinkle Parmesan cheese. Broil until the cheese is lightly browned, for about 2 to 3 minutes. Serve the warm breadsticks.
