Savory English shepherd's pie featuring flavorful lamb mince, tomatoes, and rich gravy, a surefire family favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 4 large baking potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 2 pounds ground lamb
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cube beef bouillon
  • 12 button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 (16 ounce) can baked beans
  • 1 (12 ounce) can canned diced tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons brown gravy mix
  • 1 (15 ounce) can carrots, drained
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a piping hot 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • In a saucepan, cover the potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Simmer until easily pierced with a fork, approximately 10 minutes. Drain and mash with butter and milk to your preferred consistency.
  • In a large skillet, break apart the ground lamb and cook until no longer pink. Season with Worcestershire sauce and beef bouillon. Add the mushrooms and onion, continue cooking until tender, then transfer all to a casserole dish. Your taste buds will thank you!
  • Combine the baked beans, diced tomatoes, gravy mix, and carrots with the lamb. Spoon generous amounts of mashed potatoes over the mixture, spreading them evenly to completely cover. Use a fork to create a crispy texture on top as it browns.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy.
