Savory sausage and chicken stew with rice, peas, veggies, and flavorful herbs.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound sweet Italian sausage, sliced
  • 1 (8 ounce) boneless, skinless chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cubes chicken bouillon
  • 1.6666699647903 cups hot water
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup frozen green peas
  • 1.5 cups instant rice
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté sausage in oil until nicely browned for about 5 minutes. Remove and drain fat. Add chicken, onion, and green pepper to the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix bouillon cubes with hot water until dissolved. Add salt, thyme, and garlic powder, then transfer mixture to the skillet.
  • Combine peas in skillet, bring to a boil, cover, simmer for 5 minutes. Add rice and tomatoes, cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 5 minutes.
