Delicious spiced shortbread with brown sugar and pecans - irresistibly tender and simple to make!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Combine flour, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cloves, and baking powder in a medium bowl. Cut in butter using a fork until mixture is well blended and dough is flaky. Stir in pecans, then press mixture into an 8-inch square pan.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes until lightly browned. Cut into squares while warm, leaving in the pan. Let cool, then sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
