Slow-cooked spicy pulled pork with hot sauce, chili powder, paprika, adobo seasoning, and cayenne pepper for a flavorful kick.
Ingredients:
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon adobo seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (4 pound) pork loin roast, cut into pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 0.75 cup barbeque sauce
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, chili powder, paprika, cumin, adobo seasoning, and cayenne pepper. Add pork and toss to coat evenly.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Brown pork in batches until golden on all sides, about 10 minutes. Transfer pork to a slow cooker.
  • In the same skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic until fragrant for about 1 minute. Add tomatoes, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and hot sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes and pour over pork.
  • Slow cook the pork for 5 to 6 hours until tender. Remove the pork onto a plate and shred it using 2 forks. Place the shredded pork back in the slow cooker and mix well with the sauce. Cook uncovered until the sauce thickens, which should take around 10 to 15 minutes.
