Spicy salami & tomato focaccia pizza

Use focaccia for quick meaty pizza.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 1 medium brown onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 425g can crushed tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 small fresh red chilli, de-seeded, chopped
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 350g focaccia
  • 2 ripe egg tomatoes, cut into 1.5cm cubes
  • 200g Calabrese salami, sliced
  • 250g mozzarella, sliced
  • 125.00 ml fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 200°C. In a saucepan over medium heat, sauté onion in olive oil until soft. Stir in garlic, crushed tomatoes, and chilli. Simmer on low for 10 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper, then allow to cool.
  • Spread tomato sauce evenly over focaccia on a baking tray. Add egg tomatoes, Calabrese salami, and mozzarella. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden and heated through. Sprinkle with basil leaves and serve hot.
