Elevate spinach dip with caramelized onions, bacon, and chili garlic sauce for a delicious twist!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (9 oz) frozen chopped spinach
  • 2 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups thinly sliced sweet onions
  • 1 serrano chile, seeded, finely chopped (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup chili garlic sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (14 oz) Progresso™ artichoke hearts, drained, coarsely chopped
  • 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Crackers, crostini or vegetables, as desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and generously spray a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray. Prepare the spinach according to package instructions. Drain thoroughly and press with paper towel to remove excess liquid; then, set aside.
  • In a generously greased 10-inch skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate using a slotted spoon; keep aside. Cook onions and serrano chile in the remaining bacon drippings for 7 to 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are caramelized.
  • In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, chili garlic sauce, sour cream, spinach, and artichokes until well mixed.
  • Combine the onion mixture with the spinach mixture, then transfer to a pie plate. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until heated through in the middle. Finish by topping it with the reserved bacon and serve with crackers, crostini, or vegetables.
