Spicy turkey chili with a twist on the classic American comfort food.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 0.5 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 0.5 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 serrano chile pepper, minced
  • 1 fresh chile pepper, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup barbeque sauce
  • 0.25 cup cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • hamburger buns, split
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté ground turkey, onions, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, serrano chile pepper, fresh chile pepper, and garlic until turkey is cooked through, about 10 minutes. Remove excess fat from the skillet.
  • Mix together ketchup, barbeque sauce, cider vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and black pepper with the turkey. Boil the mixture, then simmer on medium-low heat for about 20 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  • Assemble on toasted hamburger buns.
