Try this irresistible cookie dough for perfectly shaped spritz cookies using a cookie press.
Ingredients:
  • 3.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 1.3333333730698 cups butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 1 egg yolk
Instructions:
  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix at medium speed until well blended. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for approximately one hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Work with a portion of the dough while keeping the remaining dough chilled in the refrigerator.
  • Load the dough into a cookie press with a bar-plate tip and squeeze long strips of dough onto the cookie sheets with a one-inch gap in between each strip.
  • Slice each strip into 2 1/2-inch pieces with a sharp knife, keeping them in position. Bake for 8 minutes or until lightly golden, being careful not to overbake.
  • Cut between the cookies while they are still warm to separate any that are stuck together.
  • Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely before storing them tightly covered.
