Starry mince pies

Ingredients:
  • 250 g ready-made fruit mincemeat
  • 1 eating apple
  • 1/2 orange
  • 2 packets of ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 1 large free-range egg
  • 1 splash of milk
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC/gas 6. 2. Combine mincemeat, grated apple, and orange zest in a bowl. 3. Roll out the pastry and cut out 8cm circles. Place in a 12-hole tart tin. 4. Fill each circle with a tablespoon of the fruit mince mixture. 5. Cut out pastry stars and place on top. 6. Brush the stars with egg and milk mixture. 7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed up.
