Steamed sea bream with spring onion and ginger

Create a quick and vibrant Asian-inspired midweek dinner using bold flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 150g bream fillets
  • 42.00 gm light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2.50 gm caster sugar
  • 20.00 ml rice vinegar
  • 3cm piece ginger, finely shredded
  • 1 each long red chilli, seeds removed, thinly sliced
  • 1 long green chilli, seeds removed, thinly sliced
  • 6 spring onions, finely shredded
  • Coriander leaves, to serve
  • Steamed rice, to serve
Instructions:
  • Place the fish, skin-side down, on a plate inside a bamboo steamer. Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and vinegar in a bowl, then pour over the fish. Sprinkle ginger, chili, and half the spring onion on top. Steam for 6 minutes until the fish is opaque and cooked. Enjoy!
  • Sprinkle the fish with fresh coriander and the rest of the spring onion, then generously pour over the flavorful cooking juices before serving alongside rice.
