Strawberry apple free-form tarts

Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet frozen shortcrust pastry, partially thawed
  • 200g can pie apple
  • 107.50 gm caster sugar
  • 25.00 gm almond meal
  • 8 strawberries, hulled, thinly sliced
  • double cream, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Grease and line a baking tray with paper. Cut four rounds from the pastry using a 12cm cutter and place them on the tray.
  • In a bowl, mix together apples, sugar, and almond meal. Spoon the mixture over pastry rounds, leaving a 1cm border. Top with strawberries and fold up the pastry border to enclose the filling. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the pastry is golden. Serve with cream.
