Elevate classic cinnamon rolls with a delicious twist: strawberry jam swirled in the filling and topped with a fruity frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature, cubed
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon oil, or as needed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup strawberry jam
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, or more as needed
Instructions:
  • Combine warm water and yeast for rolls in a small bowl, stirring until fully dissolved. Allow to rest until bubbly, around 10 minutes.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, blend butter, sugar, and salt. Pour in hot water and whisk until butter melts. Let it cool briefly, then stir in the egg. Mix in the yeast mixture first, followed by 2 cups of flour on high speed. Swap to the dough hook, incorporate the rest of the flour, and knead until a smooth dough ball forms.
  • Place the dough in a bowl greased with oil, cover it with plastic wrap, and allow it to rise until doubled in size, for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Flatten dough on a lightly floured surface into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle.
  • Combine the melted butter and jam in a small bowl. Spread the mixture evenly over the dough and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll up the dough, pinching the edges to seal. Slice into 12 equal rolls and arrange on a baking sheet.
  • Bake until golden brown and firm to the touch in the preheated oven, approximately 20 minutes.
  • While the rolls bake, blend softened butter, milk, jam, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until creamy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar until smooth. Brush warm cinnamon rolls with the frosting using a pastry brush.
