Striped Gelatin Dessert

Festive holiday treat with layers of gelatin, whipped cream, and crushed peppermints.
Ingredients:
  • 2 boxes (4-serving size each) Jell-O™ cherry-flavored gelatin
  • 2 1/2 cups hot water
  • 7 oz (half 14-oz can) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Whipped cream, if desired
  • 4 crushed peppermints, if desired
Instructions:
  • Combine cherry gelatin with 2 1/2 cups hot water in a large bowl until fully mixed. Allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Divide 1/4 cup cherry gelatin evenly among 4 (1-cup) glass containers. Chill on a small tray in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together condensed milk, unflavored gelatin, and 1 cup of hot water until fully combined.
  • Gently drizzle 1/4 cup of the milk mixture over the set cherry layer in each glass. Chill in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
  • Once the milk layer is fully set, delicately drizzle 1/4 cup of cherry gelatin over the top of the milk layer in each glass. Chill in the refrigerator for approximately 20 minutes.
  • Top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed peppermints for a festive finish.
