Decadent chocolate crinkle cookies dusted with powdered sugar.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 0.5 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.75 cup confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, gently melt the chocolate and shortening together. Take it off the heat and stir in the sugar and vanilla. Beat in the eggs one at a time. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Combine the chocolate mixture and nuts with the dry ingredients. Refrigerate the dough for 3 hours or overnight before using.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease your cookie sheets.
  • In a bowl, add confectioners' sugar. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll the dough balls in confectioners' sugar until coated. Place on cookie sheets, spacing them 3 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until the cookies look soft. Let them cool on a wire rack before enjoying!
