Gather the family for flavorful Swedish meatballs - a delicious crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients:
2sliceswhite bread, crusts removed, torn
64.38 gm milk
1 medium red onion, grated
500g pork and veal mince
1egg, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp allspice
0.63gm ground nutmeg
40.00 ml plain flour
510.00 gm beef stock
63.13 gm thickened cream
Small fresh dillsprigs, to serve
Crusty bread, to serve
Salt, to season
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine bread and milk, let it sit for 5 minutes. Then add onion, mince, egg, spices, salt, and pepper. Mix well, shape level tablespoons of mixture into balls, and place them on a plate.
In a large deep frying pan over medium-high heat, sizzle the meatballs in hot oil, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown all around. Remove to a plate with a slotted spoon.
Sprinkle flour into the pan and cook while stirring until bubbling for about 1 minute. Slowly pour in stock and cream, bring to a boil. Add the meatballs back to the pan, reduce heat to medium, and simmer for 10 minutes until meatballs are cooked and sauce thickens. Sprinkle with dill and serve with bread.
