Ingredients:
  • 45g breadcrumbs
  • 60ml cream
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1/8 tsp ground allspice
  • 1.20 gm salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 60ml olive oil
  • 185ml beef stock
  • 2.50 gm cornflour
  • 125ml cream
  • Mixed salad leaves, to serve
  • Crusty bread, to serve
Instructions:
  • Combine breadcrumbs and cream to create a creamy base, then mix in mince, onion, garlic, allspice, egg, and salt. Season generously with pepper and use damp hands to form the mixture into small balls.
  • In a sizzling frying pan, sear the meatballs in batches until beautifully browned. Remove any excess oil.
  • Place the meatballs back in the pan, pour in the stock, and simmer covered for 20 minutes. Once done, remove the meatballs and keep them warm by covering them with foil.
  • Whisk together the cornflour and water until smooth, then add to the stock mixture. Bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat. Stir in the cream and cook for 1 minute. Pour the flavorful sauce over the meatballs and enjoy with a side of salad leaves and crusty bread.
