Indulgent cream sauce with aromatic herbs and warm spices complements butternut squash ravioli perfectly.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the cooking oil. Add rosemary, thyme, and flour to the mixture, stirring until smooth, bubbly, and light tan in color, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Gradually incorporate the heavy cream into the flour mixture, ensuring each addition is fully mixed before adding more. Stir in the nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, salt, and pepper into the creamy mixture. Cook and stir until smooth.
