Sweet soy chicken wings recipe

Delicious Sweet Soy BBQ Chicken Wings - ideal for summer gatherings!
Ingredients:
  • 40g brown sugar
  • 2kg free range chicken wings
  • Seasonal green salad, to serve
  • 1/2 bunch coriander, leaves and stems finely chopped
  • 65.63 gm lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 125ml kecap manis
  • 20.00 ml crushed garlic
  • 60ml black vinegar
  • 20.00 ml finely grated fresh ginger
  • Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 2-54.60 gm extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 long fresh red chillies, thinly sliced
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, mix all the marinade ingredients together.
  • Trim the wing tips off the chicken wings using a sharp knife. Make incisions in each wing, then coat them evenly in the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight to enhance the flavors.
  • Take the chicken wings out of the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking. Preheat your barbecue grill to medium high heat.
  • Grill the chicken wings with the lid closed for 15 to 20 minutes, turning regularly to achieve a golden brown and sticky finish without burning.
  • Arrange the chicken wings neatly on a large platter or board alongside a refreshing seasonal vegetable salad.
